Information for Referring ProfessionalsTransitional volunteers are referred from professionals serving people with psychiatric, physical and cognitive disabilities. Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years old, have at least one psychiatric diagnosis and live or receive services in San Francisco. If your client does not have a psychiatric diagnosis but is linked to services with the Department of Rehabilitation, he or she may be eligible for services. If your client is under 18 years of age, please refer to Information for Youth Volunteers. If you are a teacher, rehabilitation therapist, vocational specialist, counselor, social worker, or other professional serving people with special needs, your clients may benefit from the Transitional Volunteer Program (TVP).
